First, let me say that I enjoy both Aloe Blacc’s music and Elton John’s music.

They’re both talented singers, performers, and songwriters.

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about how Aloe Blacc seems to have ripped off Elton John.

Aloe Blacc - “The Man”

Listen to the first line of Aloe Blacc’s “The Man” (“you can tell everybody”).

Elton John - “Your Song”

Then listen to the first line of the chorus (at the 1-minute mark) of Elton John’s “Your Song.”

Hear any similarities?

Uh, yeah, I’d say so.

Again, for the record, I’ve really been enjoying Blacc’s music on Spotify, and Elton, of course, is a classic.

But, man, it sure sounds like a ripoff.
